Contemporary Polish drama

Until now, no summary literary history work has been prepared on the latest (after 1989) Polish dramatic literature either in Poland or in our country. The work held by the dear reader tries to fill this gap by examining the main phenomena and tendencies of Polish dramatic literature in the years following the change of regime. Among other things, the monograph seeks answers to what were the defining aspirations and characteristics of Polish drama literature at the turn of the millennium, what new challenges the creators had to meet during the period of economic and aesthetic model change. The aim of the book is to present the works and works of contemporary Polish artists who were active between 1990 and 2005 - and who are mostly unknown in our country - as well as to describe and analyze the new Polish dramas published in this period.
